Walk Description

This walk was organised and led by Diana K as a CBC walk:

Thursday 12 December: Mt Painter - S/E. Meet at 6.30 pm in the car park accessed via the lane beside 57 MacKellar Circuit, Cook. We will walk on track up Mt Painter for great views from the top. Returning via the horse paddocks and Wybalena Ridge, mostly on tracks. No need to book. Map: http://www.tams.act.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0005/390605/MTPAINTER.pdf Leader: Diana K. There is always a great view from Mt Painter, whether by day or night.

Great to see that this relatively new walk leader (for CBC) is attracting a good turnout. Today's crowd included a returning-after-a-long-absence previous member and a visitor who had her membership endorsed and will join via the web. Also many of the scurrilous crew of trig and leader baggers; and many who just enjoy a pleasant after-work stroll.

A lovely stroll on a fabulous Canberra evening to uninterrupted views over much of Canberra. Then down off the E side of the hill and over the Cook Horse Paddocks. N-ish to cross the bike path and back via a bit of the Wybalena ridge.

Short and sweet.

Distance: 3.7km Climb: 125m. Time: 6.35 - 7.45pm (1hr 10 mins).
